Empowering Women Through Awareness, Prevention & Early Detection

The second event of United in Prevention brings together women from different backgrounds for an important awareness campaign focused on prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and breast cancer. Although some cancers mainly affect men, such as prostate cancer, women play a vital role in supporting families, communities, and loved ones through education, awareness, and early prevention.

This event is designed to provide practical information, encourage open conversations, and help women better understand the signs, symptoms, risk factors, and importance of early screening for these cancers.

Women aged 18 to 50+ are warmly invited to attend and participate in this informative and community-focused event.

About the Campaign

The United in Prevention awareness campaign aims to educate communities about the importance of prevention, regular health checks, and early diagnosis. Cancer affects families and communities every day, and many lives can be saved through better awareness and timely medical support.

This event will focus on:

  • Understanding breast cancer and the importance of regular self-checks
  • Learning about bladder cancer symptoms and risk factors
  • Raising awareness about prostate cancer and how women can support male family members and loved ones
  • Encouraging healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare
  • Reducing fear and stigma around cancer discussions
  • Promoting community support and health education

Why Awareness Matters

Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. Early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates. Attendees will learn how to recognise warning signs, perform self-examinations, and understand the importance of regular screenings.

Topics may include:

  • Breast self-examination techniques
  • Common symptoms to watch for
  • Family history and risk factors
  • Screening and mammograms
  • Healthy lifestyle choices

Bladder Cancer Awareness

Bladder cancer can affect both men and women, and recognising symptoms early is important. Many people ignore warning signs because they may seem minor at first.

The campaign will discuss:

  • Blood in urine
  • Frequent urination
  • Pain during urination
  • Smoking and lifestyle-related risks
  • When to seek medical advice

Prostate Cancer Awareness

Although prostate cancer affects men, women are often caregivers, partners, daughters, sisters, and mothers who help encourage early screening and support loved ones through diagnosis and treatment.

The session will help women understand:

  • What prostate cancer is
  • Common symptoms and warning signs
  • The importance of PSA testing and medical check-ups
  • How families can support men’s health
  • Breaking cultural silence around men’s health issues

A Safe Space for Women

This event is specifically organised for women to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where participants can openly ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance without fear or embarrassment.

Women from all communities and backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Community Health & Prevention

The campaign also promotes:

  • Healthy eating and nutrition
  • Physical activity and wellbeing
  • Mental health awareness
  • Preventive healthcare practices
  • Community support networks

By working together, communities can improve health outcomes and encourage more people to seek medical help early.
